When we began working in this role, we compiled a list of problems to address, focusing on real pain points experienced by our subscribers. Among these, we chose to tackle the most fundamental challenge: managing finances. Our analysis of available research data revealed that 70% of our subscribers struggled to track their finances effectively.
Additionally, 55% of them avoided courses on entrepreneurship or financial management, opting instead to concentrate on honing their technical skills. Compounding these challenges, we lacked clear metrics to measure whether we were delivering tangible value to our subscribers.
We set out to create a new feature called My Finances, designed to empower subscribers to set financial goals, track income and expenses, and gain a clear understanding of their financial situation. By visualizing their money flow through intuitive charts and tables, we aimed to help users stay organized, take control of their finances, and develop a deeper awareness of their spending habits.
Additionally, My Finances was designed to address churn by providing users with more than just course access — offering a valuable tool to manage and review their entire financial history. The MVP for this feature was intentionally kept simple, enabling rapid testing with a group of 400 highly engaged users to gather quick feedback and refine the solution iteratively.
